This is not a gecko and even least a poisonous animal. It could be a Stenocercus or a Tropidurus lizard, both of which are diurnal. On the other hand, the only poisonous lizards belong to the genus Heloderma, which is distributed on the south of the United States, Mexico and probably northern Guatemala.
